FAQ
Do I have to be able to swim in order to do rafting?
Yes. It is strongly recommended that people involved in rafting have basic swimming skills. The rafting boat could turn over and the paddlers become swimmers for a while. Each crew member is equipped with life jacket with positive buoyancy and cannot sink. Our trained rafting guides are prepared to restore the boat to normal position and get the crew on board. Until that happens, participants should have fun and don’t panic.
What should I wear?
We offer dressing room, hot shower and full equipment. You must wear your own swimming suit, towel and … smile.
Is the rafting safe?
While rafting is an extreme sport and can be extremely dangerous, the commercial rafting is organized with trained guides in a format, with significantly reduced risk. Professional guides are experienced with the river and can change the route or cancel the event depending on the river conditions. Our guides turn rafting from extreme to a fun and memorable experience.
Is there an age limit?
There is no age limit. We have taken kids as young as 4 years old, but it very much depends on the kid and we can discuss each case separately.
What is the best time to do rafting at Struma river?
The rafting season usually starts in March or April and ends in October or November. During Spring the river is full and fast, during Summer it is slower, but warmer. In Autumn, depending on the weather, it could be rough and fast after raining to slow and pleasant in dry periods. All the time it is unforgetable experience!
What if the weather is not good?
The weather conditions must be severe in order to cancel the boat. A regular rain or wind is not a problem, it even brings more fun.
How can I pay?
We accept cash only at our base! For booking 2 days or longer adventures, we require 30% advanced payment via bank transfer.
