A Natural Masterpiece in Southwestern Bulgaria

The Kresna Gorge, nestled in southwestern Bulgaria, is a true natural masterpiece, blending breathtaking views with a unique geological formation. It was carved over millions of years by the Struma River, which has cut a deep gorge between the Pirin and Maleshevska mountains. The gorge is known for its towering cliffs, rising over 200 meters high.

The Struma River is the heart of the gorge, its waters winding through the rocks and offering exceptional opportunities for rafting adventures. In some places, the rapids will get your adrenaline pumping and have you shouting with excitement,while in others, the river flows calmly, allowing you to enjoy the surrounding scenery. Along the Struma River, one of the most scenic roads in Bulgaria meandering its way. With its twists and turns and panoramic views of the towering cliffs, the road is a true feast for the senses and is perfect for motorcyclists. It is especially beautiful in early spring when all nature in the area comes alive and everything blooms in yellow, white, and purple colors.

Upon entering Kresna, there is a marked turnoff for the village of Gorna Breznitsa, where our Villa Fendemia is located about 2 km away – the starting and ending point for all adventures.
